Eczema, 6 months old
Miss L had been suffering from eczema, since she had measles at 3 months old. It affected her tummy, neck, arms and legs. With just three acupuncture sessions and a few minor changes to her diet she is eczema free and feeling much happier.
Bells palsy, 65 years old
Mr S had one sided facial paralysis. The doctor suggested some medication but he was not keen to combine it with his current medication. His wife looked into alternatives and so he came to see me. Luckily he came just a few days after it had occurred and with four sessions of acupuncture over two weeks he could close his eye, drink without dribbling, speak clearly and looked according to his wife like he had before.
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder - ADHD, 14 years old
Master G, was diagnosed at 3 years old and suffering from ADHD and was medicated with Ritalin. He disliked the effects of the medication and had been having a difficult time both at school and at home. He had been bullied, was himself having angry outbursts and was also very withdrawn at times. He was needle phobic and acupuncture seemed an odd choice but with care he accepted the treatment and came for a six weeks during which time he became calmer, his concentration improved as did his communication.
Diabetes, 73
Mrs H had developed type two diabetes late on in life and despite attending the diabetes clinic on a monthly basis they had been unable to stabilize her blood sugar. A friend in Oxford suggested she try acupuncture. She came to see me over three months during which time we charted her blood sugar. The variations in her blood sugar became much less and overall blood sugar levels became lower. Most importantly though she began to feel much more healthy and enjoy life again.
Hay fever, 17 years old
Mr C suffered each year with hay fever and his mother was particularly concerned about the effect it had during exam time in this important A-Level year. She sensibly came to me before the hay fever season began. He took herbs from February to May getting through his exams in June and July without the usual streaming eyes, blocked nose, headaches and sleepless nights.
Osteoarthritis, 92 years old
Ms K is the most vibrant alive 92 year old I have ever met but she did suffer at times with arthritis in her knees. This made it difficult for her to garden and get to the shops. She has a few sessions of acupuncture from time to time to relieve the pain so she can move freely and sleep better.
